I have just returned from an Easter tournament, completely exhausted. Despite taking bye Friday morning, club players who attended completed six games. Paul Jackson recorded his best ever result in an Open Major Tournament finishing with 4 points from six games. I played in the Minor section and was unbeaten, but only scored one win, finishing with 4 points - clearly must not offer draws to my opponents! Monday games had a clear advantage, the prospect of driving back to Bournemouth influenced my decision and I know Alexander was very pleased. We stay at the Manor Hotel where the tournament held and had a very good weekend. David Burt couldn't join us as he has been very unwell. He's attended this tournament for 40 yrs and players at tournament signed a card wishing him a speedy recovery.
