Matches for the Bournemouth and Dorset Chess League will be starting at the end of this month. We have a new team now playing in Division 5, captained by Simon Errington. They will play their first match against Purbeck next Monday 18th September. We wish all the team well.
A team of six players are in Two Towns Match this Wednesday 13th September - a record attendance for the club on previous years.
Lastly David Burt and I played last week in Devon County Chess Congress in Paignton. Both of us had a very enjoyable time. I was successful by coming joint first in the Minor U (120). An excellent result over a long 7 round event. I was pleased to represent Bournemouth Chess club. Hopefully more Bournemouth players will follow this example in 52nd Dorset Closed Tournament in October.
